Successful technology eco-systems from Austin to Zurich are as unique as the cities themselves but they all have one thing in common: regular opportunities to catch up with other tech entrepreneurs and like minded folks, usually with a beer in hand.
We think that's a fine idea and so we're now getting together the first Wednesday of every month from 5.30pm at Park Kitchen on Park Road, Miramar.
Come along for a chance to hear about what else is happening out this way, whether you're part of a local start-up already, you're thinking about your next move, or you think you might be able to help in some way to further develop our local eco-system. Technology eco-systems are all about networks, not hierarchies, so come help grow that network here in Miramar.
The Peninsula is unique in the Wellington economy because we have the largest number of technology-based jobs except for the CBD. We're the suburban tech powerhouse of New Zealand and many of us don't even realise it. Already there are companies based in Miramar who are innovating in everything from the Internet of Things to advanced building science and bio tech. We have residents involved in global companies from venture capital firms to cloud computing. And of course we have the most advanced digital effects company in the world based right here in Miramar.
We'd like to see more, to see the local technology economy continue to thrive and we think we can help that happen in our own small way. So join us this Wednesday, and the first Wednesday of every month from 5.30pm at Park Kitchen.
